PA GOP: Health Care Decision Time: Will Congresswoman Dahlkemper Choose President Obama Over Her Constituents?

HARRISBURG – As President Barack Obama heads to the Keystone State to make his latest government-run health care pitch, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason calls on Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper to stand up and voice his strong opposition to a plan that no one wants.

“The time has come for Congresswoman Dahlkemper to decide who she’s works for: President Barack Obama or her constituents,” Gleason said. “The last time President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi attempted to force government-run health care onto the American people, Congresswoman Dahlkemper played a key role in advancing the legislation that would raise taxes, kill jobs and drive a government-sized wedge between patients and their doctors.

“Congresswoman Dahlkemper has a chance to do the right thing this time and vote against the Democrats’ government-run health care plan. Will she continue to serve as a loyal foot soldier to the Obama-Pelosi agenda, or will she stand up and represent the will of her constituents by voting against government-run health care?

“I urge Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper to oppose any plans for implementing government-run health care and remind her that the people of the 3rd Congressional District will be watching this vote very closely!”

During a late Saturday night vote on November 7, 2009, Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper cast her vote for the U.S. House’s version of the government-run health care plan. (“Affordable Health Care for America Act: Roll Call 887,” http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll887.xml)
