GREENSBURG – On Friday, April 23rd, 2010, local elected officials and party leaders gathered to rally support for 12th Congressional candidate Tim Burns. Joining Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason and Tim Burns were State Senator Kim Ward, State Representatives Mike Reese and Carl Walker Metzgar, Westmoreland County Commissioner Charles Anderson and Westmoreland County Republican Committee Chairwoman Elaine Gowaty.
Chairman Rob Gleason – “The people of the 12th Congressional District have a major decision to make, do they support a candidate in Mark Critz who will serve as a rubber-stamp to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s extreme liberal agenda or will they support a candidate in Tim Burns who represents our values and will fight for our needs.”
Senator Don White – “I am pleased to support Tim Burns in the race for the 12th Congressional District. This election serves as a great opportunity for the people of southwestern Pennsylvania to send a clear message to Washington, D.C. President Obama and his allies in Congress do not represent southwestern Pennsylvania values. Tim Burns is exactly the type of person we need representing us in Washington. He will bring commonsense leadership to Washington, D.C. during a time when it is most needed.”
State Senator Kim Ward – “Congress needs more people with job creating experience like Tim Burns. The Pelosi job killing agenda is exactly the wrong direction for southwestern Pennsylvania. Their insistence on pushing legislation that includes an energy tax and government-run health care, it is clear that we need leaders who are willing to stand up for us like Tim Burns. We don’t need one more vote for Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”
State Representative Mike Reese – “Tim Burns is a principled candidate who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty, and understands that prosperity comes from hard work, not out-of-control spending binges. I am honored to support Tim in the May 18th election.”
State Representative Carl Walker Metzgar – “Tim Burns is an innovator, a proven job creator and his fresh approach to the many problems our nation is facing will be a welcome addition in Washington, D.C. I enthusiastically endorse his campaign and look forward to seeing him fighting for the hardworking people of southwestern Pennsylvania in Congress.”
Westmoreland County Commissioner Charles Anderson – “County Commissioners and local politicians know how important it is to have representation you can count on fighting for you in Washington, D.C. and that is why I am supporting Tim Burns for Congress. I like that Tim is a commonsense business leader and he deserves our support on Election Day, May 18th.”
