PA GOP: Day 2 And Chris Carney Continues To Support The Largest Tax Increase In History
HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Spokesman Mike Barley again called on 10th Congressional District candidate Chris Carney to answer why he continues to stand in favor of the largest tax increase in history.

“It’s time for Chris Carney to tell the hardworking people of the 10th Congressional District why he continues to stand in favor of the largest tax increase in American history,” Barley said. “Chris Carney has voiced his support for a tax increase that will cripple the economy of Northeastern Pennsylvania at a time that so many families are struggling to ends meet.

“Chris Carney is trying to sell voters that he is an independent, but his support for Barack Obama’s and Nancy Pelosi’s tax-and-spend big government agenda paints a much different picture of his liberal record. With his support of the repeal of 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, government-run health care and a nearly $1 trillion stimulus package that has done nothing to keep unemployment in his region from surpassing double-digits, Chris Carney earns an ‘F’ for fiscal responsibility.  However, he gets an ‘A’ in the subject of voting with Nancy Pelosi, voting with her 91% of the time.  Those aren’t northeastern Pennsylvanians’ values.”

An October 28th, 2008 article in The Sunbury Daily Item reports that “Carney opposed extending Bush’s tax cuts of 2001 and 2003.”(Coulter Jones, “Carney vs. Hackett: Their View On The Economy,” Sunbury Daily Item, 10/28/08)
