PA GOP: Friends Forever: Rendell Ally Bill Clinton Campaigns For Onorato

HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato’s campaign event with former President Bill Clinton.

“The closer we get to Election Day, the more Dan Onorato seems willing to reveal his close ties with Ed Rendell and his political allies become,” Gleason said. “Dan Onorato has called Ed Rendell his ‘role model,’ so it would make sense that he would choose to spend one of his final days on the campaign trail with one of Rendell’s closest associates, Bill Clinton.

“While Bill Clinton has made a number of campaign appearances on behalf of Dan Onorato, Ed Rendell’s been making a number of campaign donations – $375,000 worth of donations, to be exact. Ed Rendell wouldn’t be flushing Dan Onorato’s campaign coffers with hundreds of thousands of dollars unless he believed that his protégé wanted to continue the Governor’s legacy of less jobs, higher taxes, and out-of-control spending.

“While Dan Onorato will continue to turn for Ed Rendell and friends like Bill Clinton for help in these final days, Tom Corbett will keep earning the support of Pennsylvania’s voters.”

According to campaign finance reports, Governor Ed Rendell has contributed $375,000 to Dan Onorato’s campaign this year.  He has contributing a whopping $325,000 to Onorato this month alone.
