PA GOP: Leadership? Critz Chooses To Campaign Rather Than Address The Largest Tax Increase In Our Nation’s History
HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Congressman Mark Critz’s vote to adjourn the House without acting as the largest tax increase in the history of the nation is about to be imposed on taxpayers.“This week, Mark Critz decided that campaigning was more important than stopping the largest tax increase in American history,” Gleason said. “At a time when so many families in the 12thCongressional District are struggling to make ends’ meet, Mark Critz decided that he’d rather be running for re-election than actually engaging in the work of the people.”

“It’s not surprising that Mark Critz would choose the Obama-Pelosi agenda over the needs of his constituents , considering the fact that he’s voted with Nancy Pelosi 94% of the time.  Mark Critz has made it clear that, when it counts, he will always put the interests of Nancy Pelosi and himself ahead of the people of the 12th Congressional District.”

According to The Washington Post vote database, Rep. Mark Critz has voted with Nancy Pelosi more than 94 percent of the time.

Today, House Democrats including Congressman Mark Critz and Speaker Nancy Pelosi voted to adjourn the House, despite the fact that taxpayers are facing the threat of massive tax increases. (House Resolution 321,”Adjournment Resolution,” Roll Call 546)

According to The Wall Street Journal, the expiration of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts will impose a massive increase on taxpayers.  For example, a typical single filer with adjusted gross income of around $40,000 it might be about $400 a year and for someone on $80,000, about $1,600.
