HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Spokesman Mike Barley released the following statement following today’s admission by Democrat Bryan Lentz that he worked to recruit a third party candidate to appear on the ballot.

“Bryan Lentz is up to the same dirty tricks that his political mentors in Harrisburg and Washington have been using over the past two years. Lentz’s admission that he has secretly been supporting another candidate to siphon away votes from his opponent is further proof that he would rather play political games than run on his record.”
The Hill newspaper reported this morning that Democrat Bryan Lentz admitted to having his volunteers round up support for Tea Party candidate Jim Schneller in an attempt to siphon away votes from Republican Pat Meehan. This report comes as Meehan continues to show strong poll numbers ahead of the election less than two weeks away.
