PA GOP: Rendell Admits Holden “Too Scared” To Vote On Tax Cuts

HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Governor Ed Rendell’s admission that Democrats were “too scared” to vote on the tax cuts before the November elections.

“You know it’s a bad time to be Tim Holden when even Ed Rendell admits that you’re ‘too scared’ to take a stand on a critical issue like the tax cuts before an election,” Gleason said. “The fact of the matter is that Tim Holden is really ‘too scared’ of angering Nancy Pelosi, even if it means voting to go home rather than stopping the largest tax increase in American history.

“The people of the 17th Congressional District shouldn’t have to worry that their member of Congress is ‘too scared’ to go against the wishes of Nancy Pelosi. Seeing as how he votes with her nearly 96% of the time, Tim Holden is letting Nancy Pelosi, a San Francisco liberal, set the agenda for the 17thCongressional District. It’s time for the people of the 17th Congressional District to have a leader who will put their needs first – a leader like Dave Argall!”

According to The Washington Post vote database, Rep. Tim Holden has voted with Nancy Pelosi nearly 96% of the time.

The Hill is reporting that, during an appearance on Bloomberg’s “Political Capital,” Governor Ed Rendell said that the Democrats were “too scared” to vote on the tax cuts until after the November elections.
