HARRISBURG –Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Republican U.S. Senate candidate Pat Toomey’s strong performance in tonight’s debate.

“Tonight, Pennsylvania voters again had the opportunity to compare Pat Toomey’s common-sense fiscal solutions with Joe Sestak’s record of liberal economic extremism,” Gleason said. “While Pat Toomey laid out his strong vision for putting Pennsylvanians back to work, Joe Sestak refused to deviate from his set of ultra liberal talking points.

“Pat Toomey brought solutions to this debate, and Joe Sestak brought an agenda that has failed this state and country. At a time when Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate is nearing double-digit levels, we need a leader who is ready to get this economy on the right track, and that’s why we need to elect Pat Toomey to the U.S. Senate!”
