HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Governor Ed Rendell’s $250,000 contribution to Dan Onorato’s campaign this week.
“Dan Onorato’s ‘role model’ Ed Rendell continues to step up for his protégé,” Gleason said. “It’s not surprising they would share the same campaign funding since both Dan Onorato and Ed Rendell share a love of higher taxes, bigger government and more spending. Pennsylvanians’ have to ask themselves, after eight years of late budgets and out-of-control spending, do we really want to continue the policies of Ed Rendell by electing Dan Onorato?
“If Dan Onorato is serious about the fact that he’s ‘not Ed Rendell,’ as he claims, then will he have the courage to stand up to his ‘role model’ and return all of the campaign contributions that he’s received from Rendell? I doubt it!”According to campaign finance reports, Governor Ed Rendell has contributed $375,000 to Dan Onorato’s campaign this year. He has contributing a whopping $325,000 to Onorato this month alone.
