PA GOP: The PA GOP’s Impressive Night Leads The Nation

HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding our Party’s historic night of victories.

“Tuesday Night was truly a special night for our Party, filled with a host of unprecedented victories,” Gleason said.  “We elected a U.S. Senator, a Governor and five new congressmen, maintained our ten-seat majority in the Pennsylvania Senate and regained majority control of the State House by a significant margin.  In what was a great night for the Republican Party all across the nation, Pennsylvania led the way with an unprecedented number of victories.

“The 2010 Election Cycle will forever be talked about as the greatest year in the history of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania.   Our Commonwealth is Crimson Red again!”
To put our big wins this year in perspective, it is helpful to compare them to our Party’s big victories in 1994.  In 1994, Pennsylvania Republicans won a U.S. Senate seat, a Governor’s race and one congressional seat, but narrowly missed winning back majority control of the State House.  Tuesday Night’s victories were the biggest wins in our Party’s history since 1954.
