Gov.-elect Tom Corbett to nominate secretaries of state, revenue; names chief information officer
Gov.-elect Tom Corbett announced plans today to nominate Carol Aichele as secretary of the Commonwealth and Dan Meuser to head the Department of Revenue.

Those nominations must be confirmed by a majority vote in the state Senate.  Corbett also named George White, 53, and chief information officer for the administration.

Today’s nominations come just days after Corbett nominated a director of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and named a state inspector general on Friday.

Aichele, 60, of Chester County, serves on the Chester County Board of Commissioners and helped the county earn three Triple-A bond ratings for its financial management.  She previously served as the first female county controller in Chester County.

Aichele was one of three county officials in the nation to receive a 2010 Courthouse Award from the National Association of Counties “recognizing her vision and commitment to innovative government that is fiscally responsible,” according to a news release.

Meuser, a 46-year-old Luzerne County resident, is a member of the Pennsylvania Business Council and serves on the boards of the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce, Wilkes-Barre WMCA and Misericordia University.
