HARRISBURG - Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding today’s swearing-in ceremonies in the State Senate and State House.

“Today, our Commonwealth took the first major step towards restoring fiscal responsibility to our state government,” Gleason said. “Under the guidance and leadership of State Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, Speaker of the House Sam Smith, State Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, State House Majority Leader Mike Turzai and Republican legislators in both the State Senate and State House, Pennsylvanians can look forward to an agenda that is rooted in the core principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility.

“Working together with Governor-elect Tom Corbett and Lt. Governor Jim Cawley, I have no doubt that our Republican leaders in the State Senate and State House will get our Commonwealth back on the right track.”
