HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released a web video honoring the anniversary of President Ronald Wilson Reagan’s 100th birthday was celebrated on February 6th, 2011. The video can be viewed by clicking here. The transcript is as follows:
“I’m Rob Gleason, Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania. I’m pleased to help the Republican Nation Committee celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan, an American icon. Ronald Reagan was a great president. His accomplishments are legendary from stopping the Cold War to introducing Reagonomics to government.
“But the most important thing Ronal Reagan did for Pennsylvania was that he developed a coalition of fiscal conservatives, family value voters, strong military supporters, many of them blue collar workers, and we now call them Reagan Democrats.
“That group continues today; his legend lives on. They helped to elect Pat Toomey to the United States Senate, Tom Corbett as Governor of Pennsylvania, five new Republican Congressman from Pennsylvania, and a majority in the Republican State House and Republican State Senate.
“The legend of Ronald Reagan will never die in Pennsylvania. God Bless Ronald Reagan.”
