HARRISBURG – Today, Republican Commonwealth Court Judge Candidate Anne Covey joined distinguished members of Pennsylvania’s legal community as a speaker at the The Contribution of the Commonwealth Court to Pennsylvania Jurisprudence Since 1970 symposium at Widener Law School. Covey presented her law review article entitled Contribution of the Commonwealth Court To Public Employee Labor Law: The First Forty Years. Her article addresses the impact of the major Commonwealth Court decisions on Pennsylvania Public Employee Labor Law – a major component of the Commonwealth Court’s jurisdiction.

“It is a great honor to participate as member of this panel that celebrates the important role of the Commonwealth Court,” Covey said. “I have devoted my life’s work as a Commonwealth Court Clerk, a member of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board and my private practice to matters under the Commonwealth Court’s jurisdiction. I am excited to be a participant today and I am eager to discuss these important issues with voters as I ask for their vote to be Pennsylvania’s next Commonwealth Court Judge.”

Anne Covey was the only 2011 candidate for Commonwealth Court Judge presenting at the symposium. Covey was “Recommended” by the Pennsylvania Bar Association for the Commonwealth Court.   She has more than 25 years of experience as a Bucks County Employment and Labor Law attorney and was the first female Board Member on the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.
