HARRISBURG – As President Barack Obama heads to the Keystone State to make his latest government-run health care pitch, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason is calling on Congressman Tim Holden to stand up and voice his strong opposition to a plan that no one wants.
“The time has come for Congressman Tim Holden to decide who he’s truly answerable to: President Barack Obama or his constituents,” Gleason said. “The last time President Obama attempted to push government-run health care onto the American people, Congressman Holden played a key role in advancing the legislation, which would raise taxes, kill jobs and drive a government-sized wedge between patients and their doctors, before he voted against it.
“Now, Congressman Holden has an opportunity to let the people of the 17th Congressional District know exactly where he stands on the issue of government-run health care.
“I call on Congressman Tim Holden to oppose any plans for implementing government-run health care in this country, and assure him that his constituents will be eagerly anticipating his decision.”
