Corbett nominees advance

Gov. Tom Corbett’s replacement as attorney general and nominee for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources received strong recommendations from the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

Long-time federal prosecutor Linda Kelly, 61, who previously worked for Mr. Corbett as his first assistant when he was U.S. attorney in Pittsburgh, was recommended for attorney general. Rick Allan, 57, of Cumberland County, who previously worked in scrap recycling and energy consulting as well as working with several northeastern environmental groups was recommended for Conservation and Natural Resources.
