Shickshinny post office will reopen, Barletta says
The Shickshinny Post Office should reopen within 60 days after flooding from Tropical Storm Lee in September forced it to close, U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta announced today.
Barletta received a letter from Kevin McAdams, manager of consumer and industry for the Central Pennsylvania District of the U.S. Postal Service, indicating the post office “should be operational in 60 days.”
“This is great news for the people of Shickshinny,” Barletta said. “A post office is often the focal point of small communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It’s a place where neighbors can get caught up on each other’s lives. It’s a place where news and views are exchanged. It’s also a vital link for the people of Shickshinny. I’m very pleased that the U.S. Postal Service will re-open the office within two months.”
