HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the election of Jesse Topper to the 78th District of the General Assembly:

“I am excited that Jesse Topper was elected last night and he will take his position in the General Assembly very soon. I have known Jesse for many years as a hardworking grassroots member of our State Party and he and his family worked very hard to win this Special Election. With Jesse, Speaker Sam Smith and Majority Leader Mike Turzai will have another great member in the Republican Caucus.

“I know Jesse will do good work for the people of Bedford, Huntingdon and Fulton Counties. I congratulate Chairmen Gilbert Verdiglione, C. Arnold McClure and Sam Metz and the volunteers who helped to win this race.”
