Allyson Schwartz Will Bring Obama’s War On Coal To PA

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding Allyson Schwartz’s new attack on Pennsylvania’s energy industry.

“Allyson Schwartz will do anything to appease her liberal base, even if it costs Pennsylvania energy jobs,” Sweeney said. ” Make no mistake about it: Allyson Schwartz’s liberal alternative energy plan is a thinly veiled attack in the War on Coal. Allyson Schwartz lost the cap-and-trade battle in Congress, so she’s decided to bring President Obama’s energy-destroying policies to Pennsylvania.

“It’s time for Allyson Schwartz to stop trying to bring President Obama’s national energy tax to Pennsylvania.”

Missed Vote To Keep Energy Costs Low

Today, Allyson Schwartz did not cast a vote on H.R. 3826. Also known as the “Electricity Security and Affordability Act,” the resolution “provides guidance to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on its pending greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards for fossil fuel-fired power plants.” (GOP.gov, “Legislative Digest: HR 3826,” Accessed 3/6/2014)
