HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the passing of Richard Mellon Scaife today.
“Dick Scaife is one of the finest Americans I have ever met. He spent a lifetime working to defend our country’s values and inform his community,” Gleason said. “Dick Scaife was a passionate advocate for the promise of the free market, and his efforts played a leading role in the development of the modern conservative movement. I am proud to have known him, and even prouder to have had the chance to call him my friend.
“The thoughts and prayers of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
