HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Governor Corbett’s decision to end Common Core in Pennsylvania.
“Today, Tom Corbett listened to the voices of Pennsylvanians who want a different direction for their children’s education,” Gleason said. “Today’s announcement serves as proof that Governor Corbett recognizes that children learn best when parent and communities are in control of their children’s education.
“Tom Corbett has made the education of our kids a top priority of his Administration. After inheriting a state education system whose funding was gutted by Ed Rendell and the Democrats, Governor Corbett increased state education funding every year he’s been in office to the highest level in Pennsylvania history.
“I applaud Governor Corbett for his continued work to improve education in Pennsylvania.”
