Wolf Puts Campaign Coffers Ahead Of PA Citizens

HARRISBURG — After learning that Governor Tom Wolf was using his latest Obamacare announcement as a fundraising tool, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement.

“Tom Wolf promised to be a ‘different kind of Governor,’ but his actions are not matching his rhetoric,” Gleason said. “Governor Tom Wolf couldn’t wait to raise campaign dollars off of his decision to sink Pennsylvania even further into the Obamacare disaster.

“The Wolf Administration admitted that more Obamacare could mean higher costs for Pennsylvania families, while at the same time using Obamacare to raise money from liberal supporters. What’s more important to Governor Tom Wolf: his campaign coffers or the budgets of Pennsylvania families?”

“Governor Tom Wolf needs to stop putting his political future ahead of the future of Pennsylvania’s citizens.”

Just hours after announcing his plans to plunge Pennsylvania even further into Obamacare, Governor Tom Wolf’s campaign sent out a fundraising email asking supporters to “Chip in $5 or more to show Tom you’re with him in the fight for affordable health care.” (“Yesss! Yesss! Yesss! Yesss!,” Tom Wolf for Governor, 2/9/2015)

A spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services admitted that the new Obamacare proposal could include “a small cost” for Pennsylvania families. (“Wolf moves toward Medicaid expansion under Obamacare,” Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 2/12/2015)
