Tom Wolf’s Tax On Opening Day

Phillies and Pirates Tickets Will Cost More Under Wolf’s Budget

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement about Governor Wolf’s proposal to raise baseball ticket prices.

“If Tom Wolf has his way, baseball tickets in Pennsylvania are about to get more expensive,” Sweeney said. “Baseball tickets are just one of the many items that Tom Wolf wants to tax at a rate of 6.6%. The Wolf tax hikes will raise the cost of everything from diapers to caskets in order to pay for a multi-billion dollar increase in government spending.

“Tom Wolf’s budget comes with an extra $1,400 price tag for Pennsylvania families. At a time when Pennsylvania families are working hard to make ends’ meet, Tom Wolf’s tax hikes are nothing more than a swing and a miss.”

Governor Tom Wolf has proposed a budget which will impose a 6.6% sales tax on items such as baseball tickets, diapers and child care. (“Items and services newly taxable under Gov. Wolf’s sales tax proposal,” Allentown Morning Call, 3/5/2015)
