Republicans Lead The Way On Liquor Privatization

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the General Assembly’s passage of liquor privatization.

“I would like to congratulate the State Senate and State House for their efforts to bring Pennsylvania’s liquor policy into the 21st century,” Gleason said. “For decades, Pennsylvanians have had little choice and little convenience when buying alcohol. Our state liquor store system is outdated and unnecessarily bureaucratic, and it’s time for our Commonwealth to move past our currently arcane system.

“My hope is that Governor Wolf accepts the meaningful budget solutions like liquor privatization that Republicans have offered, instead of burdening Pennsylvanians with more taxes.”
