Wolf Plays Political Games With The Office Of Homeland Security

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding Governor Tom Wolf’s move to appoint Marcus Brown as Director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security.

“It’s a shame to watch Governor Tom Wolf use the Office of Homeland Security as a pawn in some political game,” Sweeney said. “Governor Wolf is using the power of his office to gift a job to a political ally after Marcus Brown was rejected by the State Senate in his bid to head the State Police.

“On the same day he calls on Kathleen Kane to resign, Tom Wolf announces the appointment of Marcus Brown despite his questionable ethics in the past. Marcus Brown was rejected by the State Senate over issues that had been raised concerning his history and his ethics in the offices he held in Maryland. While these concerns have not been addressed, Governor Wolf has decided to circumvent the Senate and appoint Marcus Brown into this executive position.

“Governor Wolf has been playing politics since he took office, and this move is no different.”
