HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding 16th District Congressman Joe Pitts’ decision not to seek re-election in 2016.
“Congressman Joe Pitts is an incredible Dean of the huge Pennsylvania Republican delegation,” Gleason said. “During his 19 years in Congress, Joe Pitts has served as a tireless advocate for conservative values in our government. Joe Pitts’ work on issues such as health care and human rights is exemplary.
“A former teacher, retired Air Force captain and former State Representative, Joe Pitts has dedicated his life to serving his communities, his country, and his world. On behalf of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, I congratulate Congressman Joe Pitts on his storied career. We wish him well as he completes his work for his constituents and considers his future endeavors.”
