HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Communications Director Megan Sweeney released the following statement regarding tonight’s U.S. Senate debate.
“Katie McGinty has a serious problem with the truth,” Sweeney said. “Tonight, voters had a first-hand opportunity to watch Katie McGinty lie about receiving support from law enforcement. The group she claimed had endorsed her had actually endorsed Pat Toomey months ago. In fact, the McGinty campaign attempted to cover up the lie by citing a law enforcement chapter that does not exist.
“In addition, Katie McGinty refused to talk about how she made millions by taking trips through the revolving door through the public and private sectors. She lied about being the first in her family to go to college, she lied about endorsed by a Pennsylvania law enforcement organization, and she’s actively refusing to call for the immediate release of her government emails by the Wolf Administration.
“Unlike Katie McGinty, Pat Toomey doesn’t have to make up endorsements from our law enforcement – he’s supported by every single one who has endorsed in this race. That Katie McGinty would once again choose to blatantly lie to voters is deeply troubling and shows a lack of respect for Pennsylvanians.”
