PA GOP Expands Majorities in the General Assembly

HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Pennsylvania’s state Senate and House elections.

“Congratulations to the newest members of our historic Republican majority in the State Senate and State House,” Gleason said. “Over the past two years, Republican majorities in the General Assembly have single-handedly kept Tom Wolf from imposing the highest tax hikes in the nation on Pennsylvania families. Tonight, voters took a clear stand against the far-left policies of Tom Wolf when they sent these historic majorities in the State Senate and State House to Harrisburg.

“These victories would not have been possible without the commitment of our volunteers throughout the Commonwealth. Last night’s victories are the result of countless hours of knocking on doors, making phone calls and generating support for these terrific candidates. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help keep a Republican check on America’s Most Liberal Governor.”

“I want to congratulate Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, Majority Leader Jake Corman, Speaker of the House Mike Turzai, and Majority Leader Dave Reed along with SRCC Chairman Scott Wagner and HRCC Chairman Mark Mustio for their success.”
