STATEMENT: Scott Wagner Is A Solid Pro-Life Candidate

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio issued the following statement setting the record straight about recent attacks made against the 100 percent pro-life record of the party’s 2018 endorsed candidate for Governor, Scott Wagner:

“Scott Wagner has been a leader in the fight to protect the unborn in Pennsylvania. As a cosponsor of legislation that would eliminate dismemberment abortions, ban abortions after 20 weeks and defund Planned Parenthood, Scott’s pro-life record has been justly praised by organizations like the Pennsylvania Pro-life Federation.”

The Pennsylvania Pro-life Federation also recently issued a statement that in part said:

“[s]ome individuals who call themselves a name similar to the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation have put out a false report, suggesting that state Senator Scott Wagner is not pro-life. Wagner, a candidate for Governor in the May 15, 2018 Pennsylvania Primary Election, has a 100 percent pro-life voting record, has co-sponsored pro-life bills, sponsored a bus to the March for Life, and distributed a clear statement condemning Roe v. Wade, the tragic U.S. Supreme Court ruling which legalized abortion nationwide.”

The Republican Party of Pennsylvania denounces misleading attacks on conservative candidate Scott Wagner, as they only do a disservice to Pennsylvania voters and harm the party’s effort to unify and enact policies that protect the unborn in Pennsylvania.

Being OK with 30k abortions a year is NOT pro life GOP.

  • Donna Lea Merritt

Denounce those statements all you want at the Berks County Patriots meeting he was asked if she would use his authority to defunct Roe v Wade in the state of Pennsylvania. His response was “I have a different agenda and I have no intention on changing any laws that may be very important to some of the people in this room. Pennsylvania is on a fiscal cliff and that is where my focus is” I I was there I heard it with my own two ears. This was only the first time that Scott Wagner ever sponsored a bus because it was an election year in my humble opinion
