Republicans outpace Democrats in absentee ballot requests for 37th Senatorial District special election

With the close on Tuesday of the absentee ballot request deadline for the 37th Senatorial District special election, numbers reported directly from the Allegheny County and Washington County boards of election show Republicans outpaced Democrat absentee ballot requests 898 to 834.

This is the latest sign that positive moment continues to build for the Raja for Senate campaign ahead of the April 2nd election.

Republicans outpaced Democrat absentee ballot requests in both counties in the 37th Senatorial District, winning Allegheny County 786 to 759 and winning Washington County 112 to 75.

In response, Pennsylvania Republican Party Chairman Val DiGiorgio made the following statement:

“The absentee ballot request numbers we received following the deadline are the latest confirmation of the positive momentum the Raja for Senate campaign is seeing on the ground.

“Being with Raja and his campaign team in the field this week, I saw first-hand how much people are excited for Raja’s brand of leadership and his plan to create jobs for southwestern Pennsylvania.

“With the absentee ballot return deadline scheduled for this Friday, I encourage all those that requested an absentee ballot to fill it out and return it as quickly as possible.”
