Christine J. Toretti, National Committeewoman

Christine J. Toretti serves as National Committeewoman of Pennsylvania to the Republican National Committee.

With a family tradition of political activism, Christine has been recognized as an extraordinary fundraiser for candidates and party organizations in the local, state, and national arena. A Bush Pioneer, she served on the Governor George W. Bush Presidential Campaign Committee. A force within her industry, the new administration sought her input by placing her on the Energy Advisory Committee for the Bush/Cheney Transition Team.

A champion of women’s issues, she has served as a director of the National Federation of Republican Women and also created P.O.W.E.R. Pennsylvania, an organization to offer women a stronger voice in the G.O.P. With her comes the aura of good conservative government and solid American values.

A pioneer in many walks of life, Christine is the Chairman and CEO of the S. W. Jack Drilling Co.(www.swjackdrilling.com), the largest privately-held land-based drilling company in the United States. She also serves on various corporate boards around the nation. Her astute business acumen, her ability to transcend gender-biases in the workplace, and her reputation as a business turn-around expert make her a much sought-after advisor.

If you would ask Christine what is her prime motivation, she would say it is two-fold. First, her commitment to her three sons is paramount and she is compelled to political activism because of her concern for their future. Second, she has a deep commitment to women in great part to the experiences she encountered in the totally male-dominated oil and gas industry. She crisscrosses Pennsylvania weekly to promote Republican candidates and has created an annual retreat for female corporate leaders from all over the world.

In addition, Christine serves on many non-profit boards including the NCAA Foundation and the Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum Foundation. Former Governor Ridge so respected her leadership that in 1997, he appointed her to Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education and recently adopted a plan she crafted to fund investments in higher education in new and innovative ways.

A recipient of numerous awards, she insists that her greatest gifts are her sons; Joe(16), Max(13), and Matthew(11). When available, she has coached their baseball teams and also challenges them on the ice in hockey.

Harry ForbesLast month, our team of more than 40 PA GOP staffers and volunteers traveled up to Massachusetts in order to elect Scott Brown to the United States Senate. Ask any one of those volunteers about Pike County Commissioner Harry Forbes, however, and you’ll be sure to put a smile on their faces.

Throughout the course of the trip, Commissioner Forbes proved his commitment to electing qualified Republican candidate on numerous occassions. From phone banking and knocking on doors to tracking voter turnout and inspiring the PA GOP "Special Forces" on the bus, Commissioner Forbes, like all of our wonderful grassroots leaders, was always eager to do whatever was asked of him and more.
