ARMSTRONG COUNTY LEADER APPOINTED TREASURER OF PAGOP

Harrisburg, PA – PAGOP Chairman, Lawrence Tabas today appointed Mike Baker, of Armstrong County, Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Republican Party.

“Mike is a successful businessman with a background in finance, and as the former Southwest Caucus chair he’s well-versed in campaign finance requirements, ” said Tabas. “He’s a good man, a strong leader and an obvious choice.”

Baker’s appointment comes as a result of the vacancy created by current PAGOP treasurer, D. Raja, who recently resigned.

Baker is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mt. Lorenzo Holdings, Inc., a family owned and operated company encompassing natural gas production, energy field services, beverage distribution, and real estate.

He is a past chairman of the eleven-county southwest region of Pennsylvania, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Armstrong County Republican Party.  PoliticsPA named Baker one of the best county chairs, noting “he is that rare person in politics who works more then he talks about working.”

An Eagle Scout, Baker has served on several non-profit boards.  He is a member of the F&AM Seneca Lodge #805 where he is past president, Coudersport Consistory, and the Syria Shrine.  He also serves on the board of the Armstrong County Industrial Development Authority.

“Chairman Tabas has been a long-time mentor,” said Baker. “I’m extremely honored by his appointment and look forward to serving him and the party well.”

Baker has been a contributing writer on politics, investing, and financial topics.  He holds a B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and resides in Armstrong County with his wife, Jennifer, and their two children.
