President Obama’s reckless economic experiments on America have wasted nearly $1 trillion in taxpayer dollars, expanded government control over the private sector and driven America deeper into debt – but nothing he has done has created jobs.
Pennsylvania’s Republican Congressman in Washington fought tooth and nail to keep the stimulus legislation off of President Obama’s desk, but in the end it was Senator Arlen Specter’s betrayal that ensured its passage. The stimulus has proven to be an abysmal failure. According to Forbes Magazine’s, “Obama’s Second Take on Job Creation,” the Obama Administration “had predicted that unemployment would peak a little bit above 8%. Not even close.” Now, President Obama and the Democrats are staging a so called ‘main street tour’ in a feeble attempt to convince America that the Democrats will not fail… again.
Today, PA GOP Chairman Rob Gleason and Senate candidate Pat Toomey held a press conference to talk about the President’s failed stimulus plan and to offer some new ideas to tackle our nation’s economic issues. They will be reminding the President that his first stimulus package was in fact also labeled a ‘jobs creation stimulus.’ A recent article in The Hill, “Dems attacking first stimulus grows,” quoted Nancy Pelosi from last March, “The choices that were made in it (the stimulus package) were to create jobs, jobs, jobs and jobs, and jobs as soon as possible and jobs over a period of time to stabilize the economy.”
Before his stop in Allentown, President Obama held a ‘jobs summit’ in Washington with American economic and industry ‘leaders.’ The irony of this meeting is that the only people invited to the summit are, according to Forbes Magazine, the one’s least likely to create jobs and according to the Washington Times, those who supported the first failed stimulus. President Obama will then head straight to Allentown, PA to announce the “fresh new ideas” he received from the same people that endorsed his previous failed ideas.
Our Republican Congressmen in Washington understand what it takes to create real jobs. The solution is not more government run jobs and wasteful spending. The solution is simply the success of small business and American industry. In Pennsylvania we will do everything we can to send more Republicans who believe in fiscal responsibility and market-based economic solutions to help fight the liberal tax and spend agenda in Washington.
