ObamaCare: The Bill No American Wants Under Their Christmas Tree

Democrats in Congress continue to sell their multi-trillion dollar health care experiment as a sound fiscal decision, but Americans see right through their attempts to pass a bill that will bring higher taxes and more government to our country. , Michael Gerson of the Washington Post reportsDemocratic health reform legislation promises everything to everyone while imposing a series of hidden burdens to make a massive new entitlement affordable, at least on paper. So its authors are in a game of beat the clock: Pass the legislation before those burdens are fully disclosed to the public.” The Democrats continue to make back room deals while hypocritically touting transparency and openness.

Poll numbers continue to slide for President Obama and his big government health care agenda. The White House may like to think that poll numbers are as predictable as a kindergarten art class But the proof is in the numbers. A recent ABC News Article said that, Americans by 20-point margins think the changes that have been proposed would do more to raise their own costs, and the costs of the system overall, than simply leaving things as they are. By a closer margin, but still 13 points, more also think the quality of their care would be better in the current system than in one changed as proposed.”

It is becoming clear that the Senate’s legislation is so convoluted that even Democratic spokesperson, Howard Dean, will not support this catastrophic bill. He stated in his Washington Post commentary, In Washington, when major bills near final passage, an inside-the-Beltway mentality takes hold. Any bill becomes a victory. Clear thinking is thrown out the window for political calculus. In the heat of battle, decisions are being made that set an irreversible course for how future health reform is done. The result is legislation that has been crafted to get votes, not to reform health care.” Mr. Dean, may be advocating for a complete takeover of the health care industry, but that does not make his words on the Democratic Party’s mindset any less true. They want this bill passed regardless of the consequences.

No one wants this bill to pass except the desperate politicos in Washington who are watching as their poll numbers continue to slide. They know that their only hope is to push government-run health care through while Americans are with their friends and families over the Holiday season. So, Republicans in Congress are doing everything they can to keep this from happening. We are working to ensure that Americans have the chance to read this bill. Senator Specter, Senator Casey and their counterparts in the House are no longer acting in the interests of the Commonwealth. Their decisions are exclusively political.
