Rep. Merle Phillips (R-Northumberland/Snyder) has announced that $1.5 million in state funding has been released for Shikellamy State Park.
“This is great news for park officials, as well as local residents and visitors who frequent this facility,” Phillips said.
The money is from the 2009-10 capital budget and will be used for improvements to the Shikellamy State Park Marina Building.
“We have waited quite a while for this money to be released, and I am grateful to the administration for realizing how important this project is to the local community and to our tourism industry,” Phillips said.
Letter from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) regarding the request by Rep. Phillips for the funds to be released.
