When it comes to fighting the opioid epidemic, Tom Wolf sides with special interests

Wednesday, Republican Gubernatorial nominee Scott Wagner unveiled his plan to combat the opioid crisis in Pennsylvania.

The plan stands in stark contrast to the priorities of Tom Wolf, who earlier this year, vetoed legislation that would have aided in the fight against the opioid crisis after taking PAC money from special interests associated with workers’ compensation litigation and compounding pharmacies.

In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, made the following statement:

“Time and again, Tom Wolf has sided with special interests over the people of Pennsylvania and we deserve better.

“Scott Wagner has laid out a plan to combat the opioid crisis that sets the right course and focuses on real, day-one action putting people—especially those individuals and families struggling with the scourge of opioid addiction—ahead of special interests.”
