Conferees select D. Raja as Republican nominee in the 37th Senatorial District Special Election

Sunday, conferees representing Allegheny and Washington counties voted by unanimous ballot to select D. Raja as the Republican nominee for the 37th Senatorial District special election scheduled for April 2, 2019.

Raja is a small business owner from Mt. Lebanon, where he currently resides with his wife and two daughters.

 In response, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Val DiGiorgio, made the following statement:

“I want to thank all of the candidates and conferees who took the time to ensure we have the candidate that puts us in the best possible position to win this election.

“Raja is a proven Republican leader and small business owner with significant name recognition and a strong background of community involvement and service.

“As his campaign moves forward, Raja will have the full support of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania. We will be using every tool at our disposal to make sure we send Raja to the State Senate where his entrepreneurial experience and leadership skills will be an asset as he works with the Senate Republican majority to keep taxes low and pass pro-growth legislation.”
