PA GOP-endorsed Superior Court candidates announce Congressional endorsements

Last week, Cumberland County Judge Christylee Peck and Chester County Deputy District Attorney Megan McCarthy King—the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee endorsed candidates for Superior Court—filed their nominating petitions, boasting a combined 19,067 signatures to get on the primary ballot.

Judge Peck and proven prosecutor Megan King are the only two Republican candidates for Superior Court “recommended” by the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

This week, following the filing, the two candidates also received the endorsement of the following members of the Pennsylvania Republican Congressional delegation.

Here are the endorsements with statements of support:

Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson – Dean of the Pennsylvania Republican Congressional delegation:

“Judge Peck and prosecutor King have the background and experience that overwhelmingly won the endorsement of the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee to run for these Superior Court seats. I, too, believe they have what it takes to make great judges and significant contributions to the Pennsylvania Superior Court. I look forward to helping them take their message to Pennsylvania voters.”

Congressman Scott Perry:

“Having been directly affected by activist Pennsylvania judges, I’m glad to see that Judge Christylee Peck and prosecutor Megan McCarthy King understand the proper role of the Judiciary and will take politics out of decision-making. We need their experience and viewpoints on the bench, and I’m happy to endorse their candidacy.”

Congressman Mike Kelly:

“Pennsylvania needs judges that understand the importance of ethics, due process, and the rule of law. I know that Judge Christylee Peck and prosecutor Megan McCarthy King are a team that has a wide-array of experience, but will also take those important hallmarks of justice to Pennsylvania’s Superior Court.”

Congressman Lloyd Smucker:

“Judge Peck and prosecutor King know that judicial activism and politics should play no role in judicial decision-making and that is why I’m proud to support their candidacy for Pennsylvania Superior Court. Having judges that understand the role of and impact made by Superior Court decisions is key and both Judge Peck and prosecutor King have shown they have what it takes to make a difference on the Superior Court.”
