Dear supporters, friends, and those interested in the Republican Party of Pennsylvania:
To start, I want to begin by wishing all mothers out there a wonderful Mother’s Day!
This week the Republican Party of Pennsylvania took the lead in calling out some of the most outrageous conduct we’ve ever seen from a state lawmaker when State Rep. Brian Sims (D-Philadelphia) now infamously, and potentially criminally, harassed and intimidated women and teens peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights outside of a Philadelphia abortion clinic.
Not only did we call out his conduct and asked for an apology, but we requested a criminal investigation into his actions.
As we said repeatedly this week, Rep. Sims’ conduct was despicable and the ongoing negative reaction to his conduct is understandable.
In response, I was glad to see pro-life organizations and advocates peacefully gather as a group on Friday in Philadelphia at the location where the incidents occurred to tell the world that not only will people of values continue to stand up for life and the unborn, but will not be intimidated by reckless and harassing conduct.
Speaking of standing up for life, I was thrilled by the performance of Superior Court candidates Cumberland County Judge Christylee Peck and Chester County Deputy District Attorney Megan McCarthy King at this week’s 2019 Superior Court candidate’s forum.
Both of these candidates are recommended by the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, law enforcement, and many other groups recognizing their commitment to justice, integrity, and ensuring the rule of law.
